Fruit Production Trainee/Apprenticeship

Job Summary

• Full time Trainee/Apprentice Fruit Production Operative required to join a small team at our fruit farms based near Tonbridge; Cobham near Gravesend or Wingham near Canterbury.
• Pay: £9.65 to £10.15 per hour depending on experience
• Hours: 40 hours per week, plus overtime as agreed

• A combination of in-house training plus structured courses and qualifications
• If appropriate, a formal apprenticeship will be offered

Job Description

• Tractor driving and machinery operation, including:
• Orchard spraying of apples, blackcurrants and vines
• Application of fertiliser and plant production products
• Operating a range of power-driven machinery
• Tractor driving, including moving fruit and bins
• Harvest work, including forklift operation and use of orchard platforms
• Undertake tasks associated with orchard management:
• Planting and orchard establishment
• Pruning and thinning
• Canker management, sucker removal, tree tying
• Equipment and machinery maintenance
• Maintain records and attend meetings
• Undertake any other duties as requested
