Research Fellow in Materials and Catalysis

Job description

A postdoctoral research associate position, funded by the Leverhulme Trust for a period of up to 16 months, is available within the group of Dr Andy Graham at the University of South Wales, UK. The position, which is part of an on-going collaboration with Professor Stuart Taylor, (Cardiff Catalysis Institute, Cardiff University) is available immediately.

The two research groups have a successful track record of innovative research at the interface of catalysis, inorganic materials, and synthetic organic chemistry. This project seeks to further extend this relationship to develop strategies to access a new class of hybrid inorganic/organic materials, produced by surface functionalisation of nanotubular structures, and to harness their potential as novel catalytic materials.

This position is based at the Upper Glyntaff Campus of the University of South Wales

We offer a number of excellent employee benefits including a generous pension scheme, 35 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays), a staff support scheme, cycle to work scheme and annual increments (to the top of the grade). Discover the advantages of working with us
