Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Building Services (Visa Sponorship)

Skills Provision is searching for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an established business in Northern Ireland.

Working Hours

• Mon -Thu: 08:00 – 17:00
• Fri: 08:00 – 15:00

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Design, daily duties include:

• Develop electrical designs, drawings, calculations etc for projects
• Create project-specific building management systems control strategies for implementation
• Manage, train and develop junior engineers
• Take part in project design meetings
• Work hand in hand with other departments and teams to deliver projects
• Visit UK sites to undertake surveys or existing systems
• The above list is not exhaustive and additional tasks may be required as directed

Requirements

Education:

Degree in Electrical Engineering/Building Services or equivalent qualification

Essential skills and experience:

• 5 years of relevant experience
• Chartered Engineer status with a professional body
• Experience in the design and implementation of building management systems
• Previous experience in designing ELV, LV and HV systems e.g. protections, harmonics, investors etc.
• Comprehensive understanding of British/European standards and legislation included the latest 18th edition
• Experience working with Amtech or similar design software
• Self-motivated, hard-working individual
• Possess a strong commitment to team environment dynamics, contributing expertise and following leadership directives at appropriate times
• Fluent written and verbal English language skills

Desirable:

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and the latest BIM 360 software packages
• Experience in utilising IES, Hysopt or similar
• Design HV electrical switchgear, transformer, generator systems above 2MW(e)
