About the Team:

Joining the data team offers multiple opportunities to work on cutting edge technologies & solve complex data problems. As a large organisation we have vast quantities of data moving around our systems ready to be organised, analysed & leveraged to create business insights that can help us operate effectively. As a data architect you will be front and centre in providing guidance in the architecture and design of data within the firm's application landscape.

Job Skills

Data architecture focuses on delivering the vision for the organisation’s use of data within the firm's application landscape. Data architects understand a broad range of Data Management disciplines and act as a bridge between non-technical stakeholders and technical practitioners.

  • Understands how to undertake structured analysis of business requirements and translate these into data models and design

  • Can ensure that data architectural decisions align to agreed data governance standards and guidelines

  • Can ensure data is of consistent design across systems that use it

  • Is able to create new and extend existing data models

  • Understands how to effectively manage metadata

  • Can identify the need for key data design decisions and is able to manage their path through architecture governance

  • Provides direction through the definition of data in target and transition architectures to satisfy the perspectives of different stakeholders

Related expertise

  • Understanding of Data Quality Management principles

  • Ability to confidently communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders

  • The ability to liaise with product managers and technical architects to define data roadmaps

  • Inquisitive mindset, constantly looking to explore how things work & why
