Consultant Medical Microbiologist

We are looking for two enthusiastic, clinically focused Medical Microbiologists to join the Microbiology team. The two posts are replacement, whole time, (10 PAs) Consultant Medical Microbiologists employed by St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful candidates will join a team of four whole time equivalent Consultants working across the two Trusts, St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. The posts will be based at Whiston hospital. There are opportunities to build the clinical service through Antimicrobial Stewardship taking on the lead role with contributions towards Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) Service, Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and additional ward presence.

Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Medical Microbiology (UK or equivalent qualifications), to be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and to be on the Specialist Register or due to obtain their CCT within six months of the date of interview. CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation of successful application.
