About the role
As part of the Environmental Protection team, you will play a key role in ensuring business compliance in animal health, licensing and welfare legislation. Carrying out inspections, investigations, research, and providing appropriate advice, you will work closely with businesses and other agencies to promote and maintain good standards in relation to all animals in licensable and commercial situations.


About you
You will hold a Level 3 certificate in Animal Health or have an equivalent qualification / experience and be committed to obtaining this qualification within your first year. You will also have a broad understanding of all current legislation and ideally experience of working within local government. You must be able to use technology in the effective performance of the role, and your tact and diplomacy will ensure you are able to build rapport quickly and react calmly and professionally in challenging situations.


Some out of hours and homeworking may be required, and a valid driving licence and your own car are essential (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).
