Apprentice Bricklayer

Optimum Skills are proud to be working closely with a multitude of Bricklayers, who are looking to recruit reliable Apprentice Bricklayers from the Newcastle and Gateshead Areas. Joining a company that provides building services you will be learning all of the required skills to become a bricklayer. You will also be learning other related useful skills to help you become successful in this trade.

Duties will include:

In this role you will be completing a variety of duties to help support the business, the services they offer are as listed below:

Roof replacements

Flat roofing

Brickwork

Brick walls

Repointing

Guttering

Fascia's

Concrete base

Footings

Garden walls

Requirements:

Measuring the work area and setting out the first rows of bricks (courses) and the damp course Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer

Laying the bricks on top of each other and applying the mortar with a trowel

Shaping and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels and power tools

Checking that courses are straight using spirit levels and plumb lines

Salary: £5.28 per hour
