Independent plant shop Cactus + Coffee is sprouting up as part of an exciting new

chapter for Goose Green in the heart of Altrincham’s town centre. The body and mind

focused plant cafe will specialise in cactii and succulents whilst also providing outdoor

plants, cut flowers, home and gift items, hot and cold sandwiches, seasonal soups, cakes

and great coffee, all centred around the feel-good factor of foliage.

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Cafe and Plant Shop Associates to join our team.The ideal candidate is excited to start each day with an early morning shift and is passionate about the art of coffee making. Qualified candidates will have prior barista experience and a friendly, charismatic personality. The right candidate will be responsible for working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring consistent quality in coffee preparation and maintaining cleanliness in the café.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet customers in a friendly manner

• Take orders and prepare beverages and light meals as per customer instructions

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the cafe and plant shop area

• Assist customers in selecting and purchasing plants • Water and care for plants, as necessary

• Operate cash registers and credit card machines to complete transactions accurately

• Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring prompt and efficient service, answering any questions, and addressing any concerns

• Maintain adequate inventory levels of beverages, food, and plants, and report to the supervisor

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure high-quality service and successful operations of the cafe and plant shop

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in a cafe or retail environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle customer inquiries and complaints

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds •

Flexibility to work on weekends or holidays, when necessary

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week

Salary: £9.50-£11.00 per hour
