Barista & Brewing Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Barista at BNU - The Garden.

Location: Buckinghamshire - High Wycombe

Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour

Working pattern: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, Monday - Sunday

Job Purpose:

• To provide a friendly, warm and knowledgeable service to all customers.
• To work as directed to prepare and serve both espresso and filter-based coffee following the standards set out by the CH&CO Barista academy and Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
• Coffee knowledge and skill level expected to be aligned to SCA foundation barista and brewing skills.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Coffee Service

• Prepare and serve all coffee beverages in a timely manner and to the CH&CO standard.
• To fulfil daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and maintenance routines for coffee equipment
• Calibrate coffee machine and grinder
• Complete daily calibration log
• Alter espresso recipe as required
• Check water quality using water testing kits
• Manage storage and stock rotation of coffee beans, ground coffee and milk supply
• Keep the service areas clean, tidy and presentable in line with the CH&CO standards.
• Communicate with customers about our coffee products
• Manage allergens in the barista area
• Produce espresso-based coffees with latte art
• Produce filter coffee to recipe on a range of brew methods
