Dog Grooming Apprentice

Part of a small family business currently run by the Head groomer Maddy. It has been recently renovated in a beautiful listed building with new equipment and friendly customers. Remembering that with any job there is much to learn, Maddy is keen to help anyone gain as much grooming understanding and experience as she can.

As an assistant groomer you will be assisting Maddy by:

• bathing dogs
• drying dogs
• grooming dogs with guidance
• general customer service, to book appointments and contact customers with grooming enquiries
• ensure facilities are of a high standard of cleanliness
• help other heads of department with reasonable tasks
• tool maintenance and cleaning equipment

Desired Skills & Personal Qualities:

• Experience working and handling dogs is preferable
• Have experience working in a fast paced environment is a bonus
• Have excellent communication skills
• Time keeping
• Must be enthusiastic, willing to learn and have a real passion for dogs

Desired Qualifications:

• Maths & English GCSE’s are desired but not essential

Training

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.

Future Prospects:

• Staying on in bristles and paws and helping grow the business.
• Dog groomer/stylist

• Monday to Friday
