Dairy Assistant

Aspiring cheese maker required for this unique opportunity !

We make the only cheddar in Cheddar - traditional raw milk cheese, produced by hand and long-matured in cloth. We need a new member of the team to assist our cheesemakers and cheese packers. Based in the beautiful Cheddar Gorge your responsibilities will include helping to assist in the day to running of the dairy by caring for the cheese in our maturing stores and helping in packing / production.

Part of a small friendly and hard working team, we are looking for someone who is physically fit, numerate and takes pride in their work. Attention to detail is essential for us to maintain our high standard production of award-winning traditional cheddar cheese.

We make cheese every day and have a Visitor Centre, open to the public 7 days a week too. We allow members of the public to watch us make and pack our cheese and we meet people from all over the world who are interested in the 'Only Cheddar Made in Cheddar'!

This is a full-time position, around 40 hours, five days a week. Weekend work available. Full training will be given.
