Safari Kid - Irvington is now hiring passionate Toddler teacher to provide a caring & nurturing environment for children for children 24 - 36 months. Responsibilities
- Employ Montessori educational techniques to teach children (training provided if needed)
- Preparing and maintaining the classroom environment to optimize student learning.
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and communicate professionally with parents
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Must be able to change diapers
Skills
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and Montessori educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
Qualifications:
- AMS or AMI Montessori training preferred
- 12 core units in Early childhood + Infant/ Toddler Units and at least 1 year experience working with toddlers.
- Self- motivated, responsible, driven and works well with minimal supervision
- Certification in child CPR and first Aid
- Current TB test and health report
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation:
In line with current industry standards.
Full time and Part time positions (2:00 - 6:00 pm)
